AI Act
How Trailgun stands with respect to the European Artificial Intelligence Act, Regulation (EU) 2024/1689.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
- No prohibited practices: Trailgun does not profile, manipulate or score people.
- Not a high-risk system: it assists professionals in preparing filings and does not decide about people.
- Human oversight at every decisive step: the lawyer reviews, approves and signs.
- Traceability: every figure points to its source, every job stays on record.
- Models from providers subject to EU obligations, with no training on customers' data.
1. The regulation in brief
The AI Act classifies artificial intelligence systems by risk: some practices are prohibited, high-risk systems must meet strict requirements, and others are subject to transparency and AI literacy obligations. The obligations apply in phases, starting in 2025.
2. What Trailgun does, for the purposes of the regulation
Trailgun is a professional tool: it helps lawyers and legal teams read documents, collect data with its sources and prepare draft filings. It takes no decisions with legal effects on people, does not assess the creditworthiness of natural persons or score them, and is not intended for judicial authorities to interpret facts and law. Within its intended purpose it is therefore not among the high-risk systems listed in Annex III.
3. No prohibited practices
Trailgun uses no subliminal or manipulative techniques, does not exploit vulnerabilities, assigns no social scores, recognises no emotions and does not categorise people on biometric data. None of the practices prohibited by Art. 5 is part of the product.
4. Human oversight
Every filing remains a draft until a lawyer reviews, approves and signs it. Optional steps are switched on and off in the firm’s settings; automatic sending of requests to clients is an option the firm chooses explicitly, and manual review can be restored at any time.
5. Transparency and traceability
Anyone using Trailgun knows they are working with artificial intelligence agents. Every figure in a filing names the document it comes from, what the documents do not state is flagged as missing and never made up, edits keep the previous version, and jobs stay in the firm’s activity log.
6. Quality and checks
Outputs go through automatic consistency checks on data and calculations. The firm chooses the level of checks and, if it wishes, verification of the case law cited, carried out on professional databases.
7. The models we use
Trailgun relies on general-purpose artificial intelligence models from leading providers, subject to the obligations of Chapter V of the regulation (technical documentation, copyright policy, training data summary). We use them through professional services that, by contract, do not use customer data to train the models.
8. AI literacy
We support firms at onboarding with practical guidance on using the agents, their limits and how to review outputs, in support of the AI literacy obligations that Art. 4 places on deployers of AI systems.
9. A commitment that evolves
We follow the guidelines of the European Commission and the European AI Office and update this page as obligations come into application. For questions or documentation: info@trailgun.ai.
