Terms and conditions

The rules for using the trailgun.ai website and the Trailgun service.

Last updated: 4 October 2026

1. Who we are

The trailgun.ai website and the Trailgun service are provided by [Ragione sociale], registered office [Sede legale], VAT no. [Partita IVA] ("Trailgun", "we"). Contact: info@trailgun.ai.

2. The service

Trailgun is a legal assistance platform built on artificial intelligence agents: it reads the documents of a matter, extracts their data and prepares draft filings and analyses for legal professionals. The service is reserved for law firms, businesses and professionals, and is activated by a contract or order form that sets its scope, term and fees. If they conflict, the contract prevails over these terms.

3. Accounts and access

Access is by invitation. Each account is personal: its user keeps their credentials safe and is responsible for what happens under their access. The firm's administrator manages the firm's users. If you suspect unauthorised use, write to us at once.

4. The role of the professional

Trailgun does not provide legal advice and does not replace professional judgement. Platform outputs are drafts and working tools: they cite their sources and flag what the documents do not state, but they must always be reviewed, checked and approved by a qualified professional before any use. Responsibility for filings that are filed, signed or sent lies with whoever files, signs or sends them.

5. Acceptable use

The customer uses the service lawfully and in keeping with professional secrecy, and uploads only documents it is entitled to process. It is not permitted to: attempt to bypass security measures, access other firms’ data, decompile or copy the platform, use it to build a competing service, or upload unlawful content or malicious code.

6. Customer data

Uploaded documents and the outputs produced for the customer belong to the customer. Trailgun processes them only to provide the service, as a processor under the data processing agreement and the privacy policy. At the end of the relationship the customer can request an export; after the agreed period, the data is deleted.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, software, workflows, prompts, brand and website content belong to Trailgun or its licensors. The customer receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use for the term of the contract. Suggestions and feedback the customer chooses to send us may be used to improve the service, with no reference to its data.

8. Confidentiality

Each party keeps the other’s information confidential, uses it only for the relationship in place and protects it with the same care it gives its own, and in any case with reasonable care. The obligation survives the end of the relationship.

9. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the service always available, but there may be interruptions for maintenance, updates or causes beyond our control; where possible we announce them. The service evolves: we may improve and change it, without materially reducing the essential features contracted for.

10. Fees

Prices, invoicing and payment terms are those of the contract or order form. If payment is not made after a reminder, we may suspend access until it is.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Trailgun is not liable for indirect damage, loss of profit, data or opportunity, or for the consequences of using outputs not reviewed by a professional. Trailgun’s total liability is limited to the fees paid by the customer in the twelve months before the event. These limits do not apply in case of wilful misconduct or gross negligence (Art. 1229 of the Italian Civil Code) or where the law does not allow them.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or endangers the security of the service or of other customers, notifying the customer where possible. Term, renewal and termination of the relationship are governed by the contract.

13. The website

Website content is for information only and is neither a binding offer nor advice. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience: we are not responsible for their content.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are notified to customers with reasonable notice before they take effect; the date of the latest version is at the top of the page.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. The courts of the place where Trailgun has its registered office have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
